The wing of wind
The Lielā Street is approximately 1 km long. Its steepest slope is called Wing of Wind (Vējspārns). Back in the day, a windmill was located on one of the inclines. On this street, the lower parts of the buildings have one extra storey. The cobblestone pavement, auxiliary buildings, closed-off yards, and boulder walls create an ancient feeling here. Painters have become rather fond of this part of the town.
