This Tourism Season’s New Attraction – Kandava’s Retro Car “Zīle”

This tourism season introduces a new attraction – Kandava’s Retro Car “Zīle”, which takes locals and visitors on tours around the town’s most significant sites and possibly reveals the yet undiscovered parts of Kandava.

This unique vehicle is designed to provide both locals and visitors with the opportunity to enjoy Kandava’s charm and history in a comfortable and educational way. Kandava’s Retro Car “Zīle” is more than just a means of transport – it’s a journey through time, combining the old with modern technology. This retro-style car is a cherished idea from the “Kandava Wine House”, realized in collaboration with local entrepreneurs. It was built right in Kandava and operates with an environmentally friendly electric motor.

During the ride, passengers can view Kandava’s historical and important sites while listening to commentary about each location in several languages – Latvian, Russian, and English. In the future, there are plans to expand the language selection so that even more people can discover Kandava’s story.

Tickets for this 30-minute ride can be purchased for 7 EUR at the “Kandava Wine House”, Ūdens Street 2, Kandava. The car can accommodate 12 people at a time and starts and ends its route at the Firefighters’ Depot building, ensuring convenient access for all interested parties.
